Educator

Matthew has taught at universities, studios and conservatories across NYC including NYU, AADA, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and CUNY. Courses taught include a variety of theatre-related classes: Performing Comedy, Scene Study, Commedia dell'Arte - Mask Performance, Vocal Techniques for the Stage, Beginning Acting, Acting Shakespeare, Fundamentals of Directing, Costume and Make-up Design, Play Analysis Drama in Context and Theatre History.  In addition, he has taught interdisciplinary graduate proseminars, including one focused on the relationship between criticism and the creative process.

As a theatre educator, Matthew's goal is to prepare students for the literal and figurative 'stage':  for any venue in which they present themselves and their work for consideration, whether professionally or in life.

PRIVATE COACHING AND CLASSES

Matthew offers private coaching and classes both online and in-person. Currently, he is offering virtual Scene Study classes. Interested students should email him at: matthewajg@gmail.com
